I am originally from south of Richmond, Virginia, but I transplanted north of Charlotte after graduating from Virginia Tech with an education in personal financial planning. I grew up watching my father, a CPA who works with individuals and small businesses, form lasting, trusting relationships with his clients. Because of that, when I was at Virginia Tech, I looked to combine the opportunity to communicate and teach difficult topics, analyze numbers, and be personable into what I am passionate about: forming those same lasting, trusting relationships.
After graduation, I got to work on getting licensed. I passed the basic exams, and then I took and passed the CFP® Exam. Something that I appreciate about the CFP® Board’s requirements is they require that I act in my clients’ best interest, but because of Dave’s timeless principles, that comes naturally. I’ve also come to understand that the old cliché of “no one cares what you know until they know you care” has a lot of truth in it, so I’m proud to enjoy conversations with people that have a thirst for knowledge. I also love talking about hobbies, especially if you’re into college football, or sports in general, if you enjoy being outside to golf, camp, get dirty, go to concerts, or do and see new things, or if you have a good recommendation for a book to read.
