Savannah Georgia had the honor and privilege of Dave sharing his message to Compassion Christian Church on Biblical Money Principles. With a congregation of over 8,000 members, in seven different locations, Main Campus, East Campus, Downtown at the Savannah Theatre, Effingham Campus, Midway Campus, Statesboro Campus, and our Spanish Campus. Dave was front and center passionately sharing his story, going from riches to rags, thinking he had it all…to losing everything, rebuilding his financial life back to riches.
Dave shared how he began his relationship with Christ during his journey getting out of debt, moving up in life toward the mountain top, whereas most people find Christ in the valley, during their journey spiraling downward toward bankruptcy and debt.
Dave shared his testimony how he searched the scriptures in the bible to find out how to handle money.
Dave inspired and moved the congregation with hope, as he shared basic information on living on a written budget. “for which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?” Luke 14:28 NKJV
How to avoid debt…70% people live paycheck to paycheck. “The rich rule over the poor and the borrower is slave to the lender.” Proverbs 22:7 NIV
The importance of fostering high-quality relationships. 10% – 15% of your income will be the same as those who you hang with. “Do not be deceived: evil company corrupts good habits.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 NKJV
You must pay yourself first…save and invest. 96% of all millionaires are first generation families. “In the house of the wise are stories of choice food and oil.” Proverbs 21:20
And last but not least….Be incredibly generous. “…For God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
It is so important to be spiritually healthy, physically healthy, and financially healthy.
Dave’s Message: What happens to people who are not financially healthy…they become monsters. They live with guilt, heartache, worry, anxiety, panic, uncertainty, fear, confusion, animosity, uncertainty, and the list goes on and on.
Dave’s message is so powerful and important, Compassion Christian Church is going through a church wide “Financial Peace University Study”.
As the church goes through the FPU classes, SmartPro Financial SVP’s will be there to help coach, teach, empower, individuals how to make the right money decisions, so they will have an opportunity to achieve their financial goals.
